Company anniversary
1972 - 2022 50 years of successful family business
Skiing fun for the whole family! As early as 1972, cable car pioneer Andrä Brandtner Sr. set the cornerstones with the construction of three T-bar lifts and the high-altitude road from Waidring. To this day, the Steinplatte is a popular paradise for ski and snowboard fans with sunny, snow-assured and fantastic views in the middle of the border triangle of Tyrol-Salzburg-Bavaria.
A pioneer with foresight What does it take to realize sunny skiing pleasure on 42 top-prepared kilometers of slopes? An enthusiastic skier who is not discouraged by big investments. And that's what the Steinplatte has found in Andrä Brandtner. Together with business partners, the Plattenkogel, Schwarzlofer and Kammerkör 1 surface lifts were built, at that time still diesel-powered. In 1975, the Plattenkogel 2 double chairlift followed, and 4 years later the Bärecklift and the Kapellenlift. In 1979, his son Andreas joined the company as managing partner and was involved in all projects from then on.
A milestone was reached in 1985 with the first detachable quad chairlift in Austria and in 1990 with the construction of one of the first snow-making systems in the region. After decades of planning and preparation, the German side was finally better connected in 2009 with the construction of the Winklmoosalm lift from Seegatterl to the Winklmoosalm. With Andi jun. and Florian Brandtner, the 3rd generation is already active in the management and is constantly working on the continuation of a modern and economically successful family business.
In the coming winter, further investments will be made in customer satisfaction. Ticket vending machines and e-charging stations are among the new offerings for the winter season 2022/23.

Brandtner Andrä
... or how a poor "sagler" with zero equity builds up a ropeway empire
Andrä does not want to be portrayed as "The Great Brandtner". "That's not who I am. In principle, I've had a great life," says the Waidringer. "And I don't want to miss a single day." Although: "I håb am Ånfång går nix ghåbt!". Hier die ganze Geschichte.
