Arrival Steinplatte | Triassic Park

Coming from Germany...
...take the A8 highway in the direction of Salzburg as far as Bernau am Chiemsee. There take exit 106 Bernau in the direction of Chiemsee / Marquartstein / Grassau and follow the B305 to the destination Winklmoosalmbahn Reit im Winkl / Seegatterl (ONLY OPEN IN WINTER).

Or take the A8 and A93 highways to Oberaudorf, from there follow the B172 Erpfendorfer Landesstraße to Erpfendorf and take the E641/B178 Loferer Straße to Waidring / Austria.

From Austria...
...take the A1 or A10 from Salzburg to the Salzburg West exit. From there, follow the B178 via Lofer and you will arrive directly in Waidring.

Coming from Italy...
...take the Brenner highway to Innsbruck and then take the A12 towards Salzburg. Leave the highway at the Wörgl Ost junction in the direction of St. Johann in Tirol and then follow the B171 for about 4 km. Then take the B178 in the direction of St. Johann in Tirol and continue to Waidring.

The Steinplatte high-altitude road and the Steinplatte high-altitude parking lot provide access to the Steinplatte Waidring ski area in winter and offer the ideal starting point for numerous hikes in summer. Various hiking trails start from there, including a one-hour hike to the Triassic Park or a more challenging five-hour tour to the Fellhorn.
